Golf Tourney Recap

Our 3rd Annual Utetailgaters.com Golf Tournament was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who participated! We managed to field 8 teams for a total of 32 players with seven ladies in the field as well (we need more next year!). Play format was a 4-man scramble with awards to be handed out for Men's/Ladies Long Drive & Closest to the Hole contests at our first tailgate of the year!

The teams:

Team 1: Mike Chidester, Bryan Tippetts, Sam Smith, & Chad Nestman (-3)

Team 2: Chris Carmody, Jen Bergmann, Mary Cooley, ?

Team 3: Nick Clark, Vince Guinta, Brian Kelly & Greg Lahue. (-8)

Team 4: Dave Oakley, Marty Heim, Russ Black, & Nate Friedman

Team 5: Randy McCracken, Joe Kulgren, Jon Hammil, & Dave Milroy (-10)

Team 6: Landon Clark, Rob Christensen, Cody Malmrose, & Chris Argyle (-5)

Team 7: Heath Davis, Bart Brisko, Jason Robinson, & Clint Jorgensen.

Team 8: Alicia Peterson, Amanda Redington, Cyndi Flygare, & Heidi Hicks

Turns out, the winning team posted an impressive -10 (62) under par to take tournament first place. That team was Team 5 (R.McCracken, J. Kulgren, J. Hammil & D. Milroy). Second place saw Team 3 (N. Clark, V. Guinta, B. Kelly, and G. Lahue) posting -8 (64). The rest of the scores are still coming in so I hope to have those soon.

The Men's/Ladies Long Drive/Closest to the Hole contests were held with the Long Drive on Hole #13 (both Men's/Ladies) and the Closest to the Hole on #2 (men's/ladies). The Men's Long Drive winner was Chad Nestman (Team 1) with an estimated 310 yd drive. The Ladies was won by Alicia Peterson (Team 8). The Closest to the Hole (men's) was won by Landon Clark (Team 6) who put his tee shot within 17 feet of the pin. The ladies' was also won by Alicia Peterson (Team 8) who swept both Ladies contests on the day.

Many thanks to all those who participated and we hope everyone had a great time. We are looking forward to next year's tournament (end of May/first of June) where we are looking at possibly having it catered so that we can have a meal after wrapping up a day of golf. Spread the word as we can always use more teams!
