Tailgate/Game Notes

The final non-conference matchup of the season for the Utes was one to remember.  The Beavers of Oregon State rolled into town this gorgeous fall Thursday evening for a PAC-10 vs MWC showdown.  Utah came into the game riding a 5-0 record while the Beavers were barely over upsetting the #1 team in the country (USC) a week before.  On tap for the menu were meatball subs (Caputo's style) along with brats & dogs.  Thanks to Joe Connor of www.greenpowersportstour.com who stopped by our tailgate and shared with everyone the benefits of 'going green'.  We had many more this week than the previous week (Weber St) so thank you to all who showed up especially those who came early!  The tailgate was one of our shorter ones (4 hrs) but nonetheless was worth it.

QB-Brian Johnson in the end made up for some early costly mistakes as he led the Utes in an improbable comeback win.  Down 8 with just over 2 minutes to go in the game, he led the Utes on two scoring drives, ending with the game ending 37 yard FG by Ute All-American KR-Louie Sakoda.  The Ute defense came up huge in the fourth quarter forcing the Beavers into a 3 and out allowing the Utes to make the game-ending drive to win the game!
