Tailgate/Game Notes

Today's tailgate was by far the largest attended of the year!  Estimates put it near 50 but I think that's very conservative.  Thanks to everyone who showed up, especially those that beat Landon C. to the tailgate site!  On today's menu were meatball subs 'Caputo's Style'!  As usual, they are a huge hit and no one left hungry I'm sure.  Among our attendees were many first-timers to our tailgate and I'm sure are now die-hard tailgaters!  Thanks to everyone who brought along side dishes: Italian potato salad (Ashley F.), homemade jalepeno poppers (Marty H.), churros (Jennifer D.), mini cheesecakes (Jenn), fruit kabobs (sorry I don't remember your name?), green salad (Bonnie C.), among others and many, many Bloody Mary's!

The game was an early struggle to put points on the board even though the Utes were able to move the ball seemingly at will.  They managed only 3 Louie Sakoda field goals in the first half to take a 9-7 lead at halftime.  One of which was a career long 51 yard field goal for Sakoda.  RB-Darrell Mack punished the Aztec defense and rolled up 131 rushing yards with 1 receiving touchdown.  QB's Brian Johnson and Corbin Louks each threw touchdown passes: one to WR-Jerome Brooks and the other to Mack.  The play of the game was a 'de-cleation' by DE-Nai Fotu (#42) on an Aztec RB in the second half - Wow!

Side note: Mary, hope you are feeling better - you tailgated pretty hard girl.
