TCU Horned Frogs - 10

Utah Utes - 13

Tailgate/Game Notes

We had to adjust our tailgate site just a bit to accommodate the snow that came with the storm just 1 day before the game.  Instead of having the tailgate up on the grass area, we moved the setup to the pavement!  Although the day before brought snow, this day was actually sunny albeit cool but as long as you were sporting at least a sweatshirt it was comfortable.  However, once game time arrived and the sun went down, the cold came.  Our menu for this tailgate included Philly cheesesteaks, some kick-ass homemade Mac 'N Cheese (thanks to Oakley), killer chocolate cake (thanks Ashley), and some Utes themed cookies (thanks Mike & Bonnie).

Remember our next tailgate is our last but it is our annual Chili Cook Off!  Please try to have your chili entries to the tailgate no later than 1:30pm.  Judging takes place from 1:30 - 2:30pm.  We will have burners available to those that might need to reheat or simmer our entries.  We will also provide cheese, onions, and Fritos as toppings.

As for the game, wow another nail biter!  This was marketed all year as the 'Blackout Game', so all fans were encouraged to wear black.  Thanks to Brad Blackner for his "We Must Protect This House" t-shirts!  This was to show support as the Utes debuted black jerseys for the game.  Thankfully the Utes managed one last drive for the game winning touchdown.  #12 TCU proved to be a tough opponent as they shut down the Ute offense for most of the game.  TCU jumped out to a 10-0 lead early in the game but that proved to be the only points they would manage as the Utes defense (and 2 missed FG's by TCU's kicker) shut down key drives.  Click here for the game recap.
