Tailgate/Game Notes

Our second tailgate of the season saw the Utes play the Weber State Wildcats from just up the road.  On our menu for today's tailgate were BBQ pulled pork, baked beans, and corn.  Thanks to Ashley and her cucumber salad and Chilton's for the potato salad/cookies.  We also debuted our new custom 'U' cornhole bags courtesy of Emily (see below) and her sewing expertise.  Our numbers for today's tailgate were a little lower than expected but not surprising due to the quality of the opponent at least we like to believe.

The game went about as expected as they jumped out to a 34-7 lead midway through the game.  The Ute reserves struggled in mop up duty as they surrendered 2 Weber St touchdowns in the second half.

Coming up in this short week (Thurs vs Oregon State, 7pm), we are glad to be hosting Joe Connor of www.greenpowersportstour.com.  He is a freelance writer traveling the country using bio-diesel fueled 1984 lime-green Mercedes, in search of great tailgates.  He will be joining us for our tailgate activities and be handing out some swag courtesy of his sponsors.  Being a Thursday night game, please arrive early as possible as we will be wrapping things up by 6pm (in time for 7pm kickoff).
