Tailgate/Game Notes

On this cool November Saturday, an early bird crew arrived early enough to cook up breakfast, complete with scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash brown potatoes.  With an early kickoff time (1pm) we were prepared to go with a quick and easy tailgate menu item: BBQ pork chop sandwiches.  These were a very popular item last season.  A brave number of tailgaters made the visit early to take in a game of badminton.  Troy C. has perfected the perfect hot cocoa which he makes in a special hot chocolate maker.  He combines the right amount of milk and Stephen's Hot Cocoa mix to blend the most sweet and perfect temperature hot cocoa!  This day was also fellow tailgater Rob C.'s 30th birthday and we're glad a Cougar fan decided to spend it at a Utah Utes football game.  We were also treated to a visit (finally!) by Whitney (Cottrell) Hill and her two children (Eli & Caroline).

The game began with RB-Quinton Ganther sitting out because of a sore knee but QB-Brian Johnson really didn't need any running game as he threw for a career high 4 TD passes and passed for 384 yards in the win.  The Cowboys never really posed much of a challenge to the Utes as DB-Eric Weddle was able to keep Cowboy star WR-Jovon Bouknight in check (4 catches/43 yards).  KR-Dan Beardall was successful on 3 field goal attempts as well.  This certainly was the Utes' most complete game and it's about time!
